This Yucca coahuilensis, also known as Coahuila Soapwort, is native to grasslands of southern Texas and northern Coahuila and, though rarely cultivated, has proven hardy to drought and frost.
It makes a small trunk and is very narrow leaves. This species grows in sandy soil. It has large stiff leaves in a rosette. It has a blue colour in full sun. The flower stems are small with many white flowers. Really impressive for this plant. After flowering it will produce many seeds. It can’t easily produces suckers around the main stem. Production is only in seeds or tissue culture.
Protect it well from frost for a while…
A wonderful plant for warm and tropical climates.
Yucca coahuilensis is difficult to get big plants.
