Colocasia esculenta Hawaiian Punch

Colocasia esculenta Hawaiian Punch also known as elephant ear and taro, belongs to the Araceae family. The Arum (Zantedeschia) also belongs to this family.
This Colocasia Hawaiian Punch is considered one of the most hardy and looks very beautiful. The plant is approximately 100/125 cm high, has red/purple stems and large tropical-looking leaves.

The Colocasia likes to have extra water and drive-on nutrition in the summer, which greatly benefits growth. Can also be used as a marsh plant in a shallow pond area, the plant removes a lot of excess nutrition from your water.

Planted in the open ground, it can easily overwinter, but just to be on the safe side, throw a layer of peat litter where the roots are located.
This way you are assured that the plant will come back from the ground with new shoots in mid-May, when the ground warms up again.
