Colocasia esculenta Black Magic

Colocasia esculenta Black Magic also known as Elephant Ear belongs to the Araceae family. The Arum (Zantedeschia) also belongs to this family. This Colocasia Black Magic is considered to be very hardy and looks very attractive. The plant is approximately 70/100 cm high, has dark purple stems and large black leaves.

The Colocasia likes to have extra water and timely nutrition in the summer, which greatly benefits growth.
Can also be used as a marsh plant in a shallow pond area, the plant removes a lot of excess nutrition from your water.
Planted in the open ground, it can overwinter well, but just to be on the safe side, throw a layer of peat litter or old leaves where the roots are located.
This way you are assured that the plant will come back from the ground with new shoots in late April/early May. Plants that we deliver between November and April have no foliage, plants sprout again in May. This perennial should not be missing in an exotic or tropical garden.
